Jeffrey received a BS in Animal Biology from University of California, Davis, and an MPH in veterinary public health and DVM from Ohio State University. During his time in Ohio, not only did he meet his spectacular wife, but with her inspiration, he and she also created a clinic providing free preventive veterinary care and social work services to people and their pets in poverty. His research background focused on the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic enteric bacteria in nonhuman primates. He moved to Colorado to pursue a Comparative Medicine residency. Currently, he is also a postdoctoral fellow in the VandeWoude Lab investigating the impacts of a novel combined antiretroviral therapy on the oral microbiome and infection in cats infected with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. He thoroughly enjoys making delicious meals and cocktails for his wife, exploring wine, and hiking.
