Dr. Ordway finished her BSc degree at Colorado State University in microbiology. She then spent several years working in London through a doctoral scholarship award at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK, on HIV patients co-infected with tuberculosis. Thereafter, her Postdoctoral Training was at Hospital Egas Moniz, Lisbon, Portugal. This focused on conducting clinical trials for better immunological correlates of HAART efficacy in HIV seropositive patients. Over the past twenty-five years, she has built up her expertise evaluating the potential of novel vaccines, compounds, immunotherapeutics, and biomarkers influence on the immune system in various animal models (mouse, guinea pig, and rabbit) to mycobacterial infection. She is an NIH Innovator Award recipient and have been the principal investigator on several university, Cystic Fibrosis, and Bill and Melinda Gates grants, and multiple NIAID contracts.
