About Jairo
Jairo is an epidemiologist specializing in infectious diseases, with a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical sciences - epidemiology from Colorado State University. His work bridges epidemiologic methods, social epidemiology, and implementation science to better understand and address the behavioral and social factors that influence the prevention, transmission, and control of infectious diseases. Currently, he contributes to research on veterinary surveillance analytics and preparedness.
His research interests include occupational health, zoonotic diseases, and the design and evaluation of interventions aimed at improving infectious disease outcomes in high-burden and underserved populations. Jairo is committed to advancing evidence-based approaches that integrate social determinants into public health strategies. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and community-engaged research, his goal is to support the development of scalable, effective interventions that reduce health disparities and strengthen infectious disease prevention efforts globally.
