About August

August joined the Ebel lab in August of 2021, to assist with a state-organized project retroactively observing Sars-CoV-2 using NGS techniques. Before joining the lab, he worked for Carol Wilusz’s Lab on the Wastewater Monitoring team, conducting extraction of viral RNA from wastewater and conducting ddPCR analysis. He received his BS in Molecular Biology from Fort Lewis College, where he studied the effect of protozoan challenges to the immune response of honeybees, as well as state-conducted monitoring of bat populations for white-nose syndrome. He is also the lab manager.
