About Alexandria

After hanging out with the cows and chickens on my grandfather’s farm in South Georgia as a child, I decided to become a veterinarian. I had the pleasure of spending eight years in Athens at the University of Georgia and during that time, worked in the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study where I was first introduced to pathology and research while performing avian influenza surveillance and studying the pathogenesis of Newcastle Disease Virus. My interest in infectious diseases was further elevated when I visited the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and was able to observe diseases such as Foot and Mouth Disease. I was excited to relocate to Fort Collins, CO in July 2015 with my boyfriend and my dog. While I hope to continue doing research in infectious diseases, I also look forward to the training in oncological pathology I will have at CSU. In my spare time, I thoroughly enjoy cooking and eating, yoga, music, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
