About Jennifer

I grew up on a farm outside of Portland, OR, where I spent my youth raising sheep, riding horses, and participating in 4-H—always with the dream of becoming a veterinarian. I attended Willamette University for my undergrad and proceeded to Washington State University for vet school. Throughout the years I was fortunate to work on a variety of research projects; from studying endocrine disruptors in a frog model, to the development of cardiac arrhythmias in obese rats, and to the characterization of potential biomarkers in canine cerebrospinal fluid. My lab experiences allowed me to cultivate a strong interest in research with clinical veterinary medicine, ultimately leading me to the field of lab animal and comparative medicine. I moved to Colorado with my husband in 2014 to pursue a Comparative Medicine residency as part of the combined-degree program here at CSU. My professional interests include metabolic disease, neurology, and biomarkers of disease.
