About Bryna

Bryna is a research scientist at Colorado State University in the Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology Department. She completed her Ph.D. at Colorado State University in Dr. John Belisle’s laboratory with an emphasis on LC-MS analyses of small molecule metabolite biomarkers for evaluation of treatment response in tuberculosis patients. She continued to focus on metabolomics in her post-doctoral research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under the guidance of Dr. Claudia Molins. The goal of this research was to determine metabolic pathways altered during different stages of Lyme disease as well as whether an objective measurement could be used for classification of post-treatment Lyme disease patients. Currently, in collaboration with Dr. John Belisle, she is further investigating the host metabolic response in Lyme disease patients with the goal of developing improved Lyme disease diagnostics.
