Swain finished an internship with Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital. After this, she completed a residency at the University of California, Davis in Large Animal Internal Medicine, with an emphasis in equine medicine. Swain is interested in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine, though has a special interest in neonatology. She has returned to Colorado State University as a faculty member of the Equine Field Service. Swain enjoys teaching veterinary and undergraduate students, and has a passion for running, skiing or pursuing other outdoor activities in her free time.

About Elsbeth

Dr. Swain is board certified in large animal internal medicine through the ACVIM. She graduated from veterinary school at CSU in 2010. Swain finished an internship with Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital. After this, she completed a residency at the University of California, Davis in Large Animal Internal Medicine, with an emphasis in equine medicine. Swain is interested in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine, though has a special interest in neonatology. She has returned to Colorado State University as a faculty member of the Equine Field Service. Swain enjoys teaching veterinary and undergraduate students, and has a passion for running, skiing or pursuing other outdoor activities in her free time.
