Degree Program Minor in Biomedical Sciences

The minor in biomedical sciences provides students with a useful complement to majors in biological science, zoology, health and exercise science, animal science, psychology, and other biomedical science areas. The program offers directed study in human/animal systems to broaden the background of students pursuing professional careers in biomedical sciences, human and veterinary medicine, and a variety of health-related disciplines. The program requires completion of 21 credits in biomedical sciences with a required physiology course and biomedical sciences elective coursework to be selected from a variety of biomedical sciences courses to complement the student’s educational goals and interests.​

Biomedical Sciences

The Department of Biomedical Sciences offers undergraduate through postdoctoral education guided by dedicated faculty who pursue translational research in the disciplines of anatomy, neurobiology, pharmacology, physiology, and reproductive biology. More than 30 specialty laboratories allow students to gain hands-on learning experiences tailored to individualized interests and goals in human and animal health and disease.
