Degree Program Bachelor of Science in Environmental Public Health
Create a healthier world for all.
Environmental public health is a challenging STEM program that applies foundational sciences and experiential learning to solve real-world global health problems. Your training will prepare you for a career in a broad, growing field focused on preventing injury and disease by managing environmental hazards and promoting healthier air, water, soil, homes, workplaces, and communities.
Master core skills like:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving: learn to analyze environmental hazards and protect community health. You will master risk assessment, develop strategies for disease prevention, and champion policies for safe air, water, and land use.
- Research and data analysis: learn how to conduct experiments, collect and interpret data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Laboratory techniques: develop proficiency in various lab techniques and general laboratory practices used in biomedical research and clinical settings.
Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences
The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences is home to one of the largest environmental public health programs in the nation, and the only one that incorporates radiological health into its core curriculum. Students and researchers in environmental health investigate how natural and built environments affect human and animal health and seek solutions to minimize negative health consequences of environmental and workplace exposures. Radiological health has a long tradition at CSU focused on the biological effects of radiation, including laboratory studies of the damaging effects of radiation, and clinical uses of radiation in diagnostic imaging and cancer therapy.
