About Hisashi

Dr. Sakata is originally from Japan and obtained his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Rakuno Gakuen University in 2014. He spent a few years practicing in a general small animal clinic while simultaneously pursuing a Ph.D. at Rakuno Gakuen University, which he successfully completed in 2019. During his doctoral studies, he focused on researching neuromuscular blocking agents, with a particular emphasis on rocuronium. A fortunate opportunity presented itself during his Ph.D. journey when he worked as a special international anesthesia intern at Massey University in New Zealand. This invaluable experience greatly influenced his decision to pursue advanced training in anesthesia. Building on this newfound inspiration, he went on to fulfill an anesthesia residency at Auburn University in the U.S., culminating in 2022. Subsequently, he embarked on a fresh chapter as a member of the anesthesia faculty at Colorado State University. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds joy in traveling, snowboarding, and trekking alongside his wife. Additionally, he takes delight in two kitties, who journeyed all the way from Japan to the U.S.!
