About Sandro

Dr. Sandro Colla is originally from Brazil where he developed an interest in horses at a young age while taking horse riding lessons. He obtained his DVM at Paulista State University in 2005. Following this, he completed an equine rotating internship at University of Sao Paulo in 2006, his master’s degree at the same university in 2014, and an equine internship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Navasota, TX in 2018. Since becoming a DVM, he has worked extensively in the field, including three years for the Brazilian Olympic Team and seven years as a professor of equine services at the Paulista University. In 2019 he joined Colorado State University where he completed a large animal imaging internship and started his equine sports medicine and rehabilitation residency in 2020. He is very grateful and inspired to learn with a such qualified and talented team and believes this experience will be extremely important to achieve the high level care that the equine patients deserve. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, and riding horses.
