About Anna

Anna Dee Fails practiced small animal medicine and surgery in the Phoenix area for seven years before returning to Colorado State University and earning her Ph.D. She teaches Veterinary Gross Anatomy and Veterinary Neurobiology for the D.V.M. program and Human Neuroanatomy for the graduate program in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Her many awards include: the CSU Alumni Association’s Best Teacher Award, 2022; the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award, 2021; the CVMBS Award for Innovative Instructional Methodology in P.V.M. Education, 2013; The Pfizer Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award, 2011; the CVMBS Award for Innovative Instructional Methodology in Graduate Education, 2011; the CVMBS Award for Academic Advising in P.V.M. Education, 2010; the CVMBS Award for Innovative Instructional Methodology in P.V.M. Education, 2009; the CVMBS Award for Innovative Instructional Methodology in Graduate Education, 2007; the CVMBS Award for Innovative Instructional Methodology in P.V.M. Education, 2005; the CVMBS Award for Academic Advising in P.V.M.
