About Andrew

Andrew Garrett is an instructor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. He serves as a floor anatomist in first-year DVM courses (VM616 - Functional Anatomy, VM619 - Veterinary Neurobiology), and co-coordinates/instructs in graduate and undergraduate level biomedical sciences courses (BMS304 - Applied Food and Fiber Animal Anatomy, BMS305 - Domestic Animal Gross Anatomy, BMS531 - Domestic Animal Dissection, BMS633 - Domestic Animal Anatomy Case Discussions). While his instructional background has focused on domestic animal gross anatomy, he also has training in exotic animal anatomy, human anatomy, and neuroanatomy. Andrew serves as the coordinator for on-campus animal anatomy outreach programming and has worked with over 1000 students from numerous K-12 and post-secondary groups across Colorado. He is also a lead developer for the Virtual Veterinary Education Tools team, supervising 2-D and 3-D asset production for the Virtual Animal Anatomy education software suite. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys training, competing in, and coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (currently ranked brown belt), playing his drum set, learning Spanish, exploring the mountains, and spending time with his friends and family.
