The relationship between you and your academic advisor is meant to be a partnership, so the more effort you put in the better your advisor is able to support you.

Some of the ways your academic advisor can help you include:

  • Providing advice and recommendations for degree completion
  • Informing you about the various tools available to help you understand your academic plan and progress
  • Providing advice or options for dealing with academic challenges you might be facing
  • Providing connections to resources across campus to ensure your academic and personal success at CSU
  • Sharing updates on activities, events, and deadlines

Your academic advisor does not:

  • Select your courses
  • Register you for classes
  • Fix registration issues on RamWeb
  • Evaluate transfer credit
